An East Texas mother is shot dead and her teenage daughter is one of the suspects.
Friday, authorities in Van Zandt county combed the Wills Point high school campus, eventually arresting a 16-year old girl and her boyfriend in 37-year old Pamela Fincher's murder.
The girl is in juvenile custody. The boyfriend, 19-year old Christopher Burt is in the Van Zandt county jail, charged with capital murder. Sheriff's officials say Pamela Fincher was shot sometime Thursday morning in her home in the Rolling Oaks subdivision just outside Wills Point.
Her body was not found until Thursday night. Chris Burt and Pamela's daughter were picked up Friday after coming to school in a stolen pick-up truck. Neighbors tell KLTV 7 Fincher also worked as a substitute teacher.
"I feel real bad, it makes me sad," said Jesus Gutierrez, who lives next door. "She was nice and would always let us play games or do our homework."
"Her daughter and boyfriend lived there and I would hear them hollering all the time," said Harry Casey, a neighbor. "She was a nice lady and I'm just in shock."
Investigators have not yet decided if the 16-year old girl will be tried as an adult. Along with the capitol murder charge, Christopher Burt is also charged with bringing a firearm to school.
