East Texas Fugitive Released On Bond

An East Texas woman who was on the run from authorities for over thirty years has bonded out of jail.

The family of Deborah Ann Gavin Murphey told KLTV another family member helped make the $250,000 bond.

Thursday in a court hearing, Murphey's husband Richard testified about his wife's multiple health problems and pleaded with the court to set a low bond so he could take her home so she could rest comfortably.

But Anderson County Judge Mark Calhoon set the bond at $250,000 because of Murphey's flight risk. However he said if she makes bond, she is required to go in for weekly supervision.

The family told us Murphey is at home in Frankston while the Georgia Governor's office finishes the proper paperwork for her extradition. Murphey faces armed robbery and escape charges in Georgia.
