Ron Kirk Makes Tyler Last Campaign Stop

Ron Kirk made his last campaign stop in Tyler Monday night.

Tuesday he faces Victor Morales in a run-off election for the Democratic Party's U.S. Senate nomination.

Kirk arrived at Ya Ya's in downtown Tyler after, earlier Monday, recieving the endorsement of gubernatorial candidate Tony Sanchez.

Kirk reminded voters that he is an experienced leader who can represent every Texan in the U.S. Senate...he added that Tony Sanchez's endorsement says a lot to voters.

"I'm proud to have his endorsement," said Kirk. "I think it means that one more person has taken a look at this race ... and made an earnest decision that, not withstanding the admiration alot of people have for Victor Morales, that the strongest candidate in this race with the backgrounds, skills, experience and the passion, the same passion of Mr. Morales, is Ron Kirk."

The winner of tomorrow's runoff will face Republican John Cornyn in the November election.
