Gun Barrel City Stikes Gold With the Texas Lotto

Gun Barrel City may not be the first place you think of if you want to strike it rich. But maybe it should be.

This weekend the Food Fast convenience store in Gun Barrel City learned it had sold a winning lotto ticket for the second time in over a year.

The woman who purchased the ticket has confirmed the numbers with the Food Fast store but has not turned in her ticket to the lotto headquarters in Austin.

Once the ticket becomes official one Gun Barrel City resident will be 34 million dollars richer.

The Texas Lotto Commission says this may be the first time in Texas Lotto history that one store has sold two winning lotto tickets.

The last winning lotto ticket that came form the convenience store was purchased just over a year ago on March 28, 2001.
