East Texans Decide When Is "Too Early" For Christmas Glee

Even though it's the beginning of November, you've probably seen Christmas decorations at some local stores, in your neighborhoods, and even on TV. So, is it too early for decking the halls with boughs of holly? Today, KLTV 7's LaKecia Shockley talked to East Texans to find out when is too early, to kick off the Christmas celebration.

Halloween has come and gone, and so begins the holiday season full of Christmas trimmings. But are you ready for "the season to be jolly?" "I've already put my tree up, I haven't finished decorating it yet but we've actually had it up before Halloween. We're so excited!," says Elizabeth Penick. "I think it's beautiful because I'm one that truly gets into the Christmas spirit," said Tommy Donahue. "For us to be able to compete with all the different stores, we have to get our Christmas things out early, which means Halloween," said Julie Rachels, owner of the "Cooking Nook" in Longview. So, is it too early for all this Christmas glee? Longview shopper, Gail Fields says, "It's much too early. We haven't even had Thanksgiving, and Halloween was last week."

"The decorations get you in the mood. I think it's just a little too early to get in the mood for Christmas right now,"said Andy Sumrow. "I just want to have one holiday at a time." So whether you think it's too early or not Christmas is here, even if it's too hot.
