Mack and Trixie Heath's hamburger shop was a Henderson favorite for almost half a century. Now, there's a new generation carrying on the family tradition.
Henderson kids grew up on the Heath's hamburgers. If a kid couldn't pay the five cents a burger they cost in the early days, Trixie would feed him anyway. When the Heath's retired in 1979, they and their burger were sorely missed. When relatives Pat and Buck Moore and their daughter Vickie opened "Store And Moore" eleven years ago, they talked their Aunt Trixie out of her secret recipe and their eatery has been filled to capacity ever since.
The family won't divulge their secret recipe for hamburgers, but they do say part of it is fresh meat daily and a coke bottle to flatten the burgers. The burgers have won a variety of awards, but many of their three generations of customers enjoy the nostalgia and history of the burgers just as much.
