Crisis Center Gives Out Hope Awards

East Texans giving hope to victims of domestic violence were honored for their work Wednesday.

The East Texas Crisis Center gives the "Hope Award" twice a year.  It is to say "thank you" to those who sometimes have the thankless job of working on cases of domestic violence, and for those honored Wednesday, cases of sexual assault.

Those honored have diverse backgrounds, but they all make a difference.

Crisis Center Sexual Assault Program Coordinator Joan Ford:  "It takes all of us, members from different agencies, law enforcement prosecutors, educators medical personnel to really make a difference in our communities."
