Gladewater Police Say "Distraction" Is To Blame For Bus Accident

The police report is in, and police say "distraction" caused an East Texas school bus wreck.    The Pine Tree school bus crashed in Gladewater, October 12th, on the way to a football game. Gladewater police say band director, Glen Wells was driving, and became distracted by students. The bus then clipped the back of a trailer. No one was seriously hurt, and Pine Tree school officials say Wells did everything he could do, to keep the wreck from becoming worse.    "Pine Tree ISD is breathing a great sigh of relief, that the bus accident was not more serious. We are so grateful that none of the injuries were life-threatening, and Mr. Wells did a great job keeping our kids out of harms way,"said Vickie Echols, Pine Tree ISD public information coordinator. Officials at Pine Tree ISD say they've given a copy of the accident report to every parent of the students on the bus.
