Longview Holds Downs Syndrome Buddy Walk

It was a day of education, family fun and a mission of promoting acceptance in Longview today. Hundreds came out for the 6th annual Buddy Walk at Teague Park this morning.  The walk raises funds for the National Downs Syndrome Society.  The event featured music and games, and this years Goodwill Ambassador, Josh Longacre, 19 of Marshall.  More than 350,000 people in the U.S. have the genetic condition.

"Many times people are overlooked because of who they are, or who they aren't, and I believe the Buddy Walk is a place and an opportunity for people to see that everyone has a place, a value and a purpose," said Josh's father, James Longacre.  More than 400 people, from all over East Texas, participated in the Buddy Walk.
