"Buddy Walk" Raises Money For East Texans With Down Syndrome

Get ready to lace up your tennis shoes and take a stroll for a good cause. The 6th annual "Buddy Walk" of East Texas kicks of this Saturday in Longview. This year's buddy walk "goodwill ambassador" is 19-year old Josh Longacre, of Marshall. The walk is in honor of National Down Syndrome Awareness month, which is in October."We have over 150 families in East Texas with a family member with down syndrome. The "Buddy Walk" helps pay for the programs and services that we provide to these families through the year," said Lisha Mack, President of East Texas Down Syndrome group. The walk will take place this Saturday at Teague park in Longview. Registration starts at 9:30am. Walkers will receive a T-shirt and a hot dog lunch.
