Egg Hunt Continues Despite Dreary Weather

Less than perfect weather couldn't keep kids from hunting easter eggs outdoors Saturday morning.

With umbrellas in hand, families ventured out to the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Extravaganza in Bergfeld Park as planned. The hunt was presented by the City of Tyler and Grace Chapel Assembly.

Twenty thousand eggs were spread throughout the park for the little egg hunters. Inside each egg, the kids found candy and raffle tickets for a raffle held later in the day.

Dreary skies and drizzles almost kept some of the hunters indoors, but many ventured out last minute to celebrate their Easter with an official egg hunt.

"It was raining when I got up, but when the pastor got here it wasn't raining yet," said Lori Thomas a volunteer with Grove Chapel Church. "We just knew that the lord would hold off the rain and let us have a wonderful day."

A few lucky kids were given scooters and bicycles at a raffle held later on.
