Gift of Love: Tabetha, Zachary And Tiffany Need Love

This sibling group is learning how to build a buddy, a stuffed buddy that is, at Tyler's Broadway Square Mall. The store helper says to them, "Keep your eyes closed and think of the best wish ever. Then grab a star, give it a kiss and stick it in your bear."

One by one, they make their wish, hoping for a second chance at a happy childhood. They were removed from their home because of abuse. Now each has a new furry friend to give them comfort.

Tabetha names her bear Snicker, dressed in a western outfit with a cowboy hat. "She's a cowgirl, just like me. She likes country," says Tabetha.

Zachary calls his football buddy, Fluffy. "My bear would play for the Longhorn's. I'm just a football fan."

And Tiffany appropriately names her buddy, Cute Princess. "I got a poodle. It was pink and white."

Nancy Heinen, their foster mom, says "They've been through a lot together and it's caused conflict between them at times but the bottom line is they are there for each other and they need to stay that way. They are a support system for each other."

At 12, Tabetha is the oldest. She likes horses and says she's ready to start over in a permanent home. "Because I'd be able to stay with my friends and not have to worry about moving and adjusting again."

Nancy says, "Tabetha was very withdrawn, very much lacking in self confidence when she came into care and that's now turning around."

Ten year old Zachary also needs stability in his life. "It's pretty hard moving to different schools, unpacking and packing back up," he says.

Zachary will need help with school work but for now, he's enjoying the 4th grade. "It's really fun. I like everything."

"He's very eager to please. He doesn't like to be hollered at and he doesn't like you to raise your voice. He doesn't want you to be disappointed," explains Nancy.

And then there's eight year old Tiffany. "I like the 3rd grade. I have a good teacher and good friends,"

"Tiffany is a bubble. She really is. She's the one with the sparkly shoes and a sparkly personality," says Nancy.

Each sibling has their own unique personality and now a buddy to match, packaged with their special wish safely inside. A wish, presumably, for the Gift of Love.
