Day Three In KFC Murder Trial

It was day three of the trial against Romeo Pinkerton who is accused in the 1983 KFC murders. Retired Kilgore detective Danny Pirtle was cross examined Wednesday. He says he never saw a bloody napkin or box at the scene that the prosecution says links Pinkerton to the murders. And testimony also came from former crime scene investigator, Doug Collard, who told jurors the scene was near chaos and disorganization. Collard testified he found reporters camped out in the KFC parking lot, police sitting around inside smoking cigarettes, and areas of the scene compromised. Attorneys for Pinkerton are trying to show the investigation was botched.
