Officials: Owner Of Neglected Cats Will Not Be Criminally Charged

50 cats rescued from deplorable conditions. The Hopkins County woman police say is responsible will not face criminal charges.

The animals were found at a home on CR 2450 in Sulphur Springs.

The SPCA says the cats were living in feces and urine-infested conditions. For some cats their hair was matted over their eyes, and three of them were them were found dead.

Piles of trash could be seen in and around the home.

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Department says since the woman is cooperating and released custody of the cats, they will not charge her with animal cruelty.
