Marshall Requiring Water Conservation

The city of Marshall is asking residents to conserve water, not because of drought, but for water treatment improvements to its plant.   Because of what the city terms, unanticipated difficulties in construction, it's requiring all residents to limit water usage. Construction is limiting the amount of water that can be treated, so citizens are prohibited from watering their lawns, washing their cars or any outdoor washing.

Some local businesses worry prolonged limits, may hurt business.   Water restrictions will continue over the next week and will be evaluated by the city. Non-compliance could result in a fine up to 2-thousand dollars.   Bob Hallmark/
