New Baby Rhino

It's a bouncing baby boy. A black rhino was born last Thursday at the Caldwell Zoo. Zoo workers will have an event this Saturday to come up with a name for him.

The rhino's mother was only in labor for about 20 minutes, and the baby was standing 15 minutes after birth.

Black rhinos inhabit eastern and southern Africa. These huge herbivore are browsers with an incredible prehensile upper lip. They love water and mud wallows which help them escape the heat and biting insects.
