The probe into how two inmates escaped from a Gregg County Jail has ended with some jailers looking for new jobs. The investigation stemmed from the escape of two trusty's from the North Jail Unit on Whaley Street Sunday. Twenty six year old William wells and twenty six year old Chad Johnston made the break past guards, but were captured a short time later. The investigation showed that the three jailers had violated policy by being too relaxed in the care of the trustees. Also, a local vendor was arrested after it was discovered that she had drugs in the compound. Twenty eight year old Stephanie Miller is charged with possession of narcotics at a jail facility. Miller was a food service provider for the county jail, and told investigators she knew of the escape plan but did not tell deputies. The jailers will not face any charges in the incident. Miller is free after posting 25-hundred dollars bond.
