Mychal Bell Will Be Tried As Juvenile

One of the teens in the "Jena Six" case will see his day in juvenile court after all, now that the prosecutor isn't standing in the way.  An appeals court set aside 17 year old Mychal Bell's second-degree battery conviction because he was tried as an adult.

Lasalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters was planning to fight that.  But Walters changed his mind after talking to the victim, legal experts and the governor.

Bell is one of six black jena high school students arrested for the beating of a white student in december. The incident happened after nooses were hung in a tree on campus.
