Reality T.V. Show Star Right Here In East Texas

"I never believed being from Winnsboro, from a small East Texas town that I would make it on national T.V."

Jami Lyn Smith said she's come a long way; not only physically but psychologically.

"When you're walking over six-hundred miles you really have a lot of time to think and reflect on your life. You really find out how strong you really are," Smith said.

She competed in the reality show to challenge herself, but also be an inspiration to her family.

"I've got my three beautiful girls and I just wanted to do something for them...just to show people that anyone can do anything, even a stay-at-home mom with three kids," Smith said.

The walk wasn't an easy one. Halfway through the show, Smith suffered a knee injury.

"Walking up and down the hills of Pennsylvania was really painful. My knee at one point was really, just gone," she said.

It was also difficult for Jami Lyn when two of her closest team mates were voted off. Still, she persevered and the journey proved to her that even a little daily exercise can make a big difference.

"I don't have a gym but I can throw hay bales. I don't have a treadmill but I can walk to and from the mailbox," she said.

Since the show, Jami Lyn has lost nearly 20 additional pounds, and she doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.

"Six-hundred miles was just a drop in the bucket cause I'm still moving, I'm still walking everyday."
