Authorities Say Video Shows East Texas Mother Smoking Meth In Front Of Daughter

A drug informant with the Harrison County Sheriff's department went to make a buy, but came back with video that's enough to shock anyone.  The video, authorities say was taken inside a Hallsville home and shows a mother and another man smoking meth in front of a 2 year old child.  The mother, Brandy Bussey, 25 is now behind bars charged with child endangerment, possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.

It's some of the most disturbing video Harrison County District Attorney Joe Black says he has ever seen.

"You can observe a two year old child on a couch in a room directly next to a kitchen where you observe the mother and another individual smoking meth through a pipe," said Black.  Bussey's daughter Black says is lying on the couch less than eight feet away from her mom and a man. Authorities say they are loading syringes, dealing narcotics and using some of the worst language they have ever heard.  In the video Bussey refers to her daughter several times.

"That's my baby over there," she said at one point.  The child can also be heard talking.  Bussey, Black says doesn't seem to be worried that her daughter is being exposed to narcotics.

"It's pretty disturbing that within a few minutes, or maybe two minutes from the time that she smokes meth, her daughter is on the couch and she (Bussey) is bending down and talking directly in her daughter's face right after smoking and inhaling methamphetamine," said Black.  The sad part is the child does not get to make the decision to what to do. The child is basically stuck in the middle."  Black says once authorities saw the video they knew they had to get the child out of the house as soon as possible.

"We are just lucky the officers found it when they did and now this child will hopefully be in a lot safer place," said Black.  The two-year-old was taken to the hospital after she was removed from the home.   Authorities say she tested positive for high levels of meth.  The child is now staying with other family members until the matter is resolved.  Harrison County Authorities say more charges could be filed, and there could be more arrests.
