Drivers Be Ware of School Buses Headed Back To School

With the first day of class starting Monday, drivers need to pay more attention to school buses traveling on the roads.

"Drivers need to be well aware of the amber lights that are considered our warning lights," said TISD supervisor of transportation Gerald Barnes.

Yellow flashing light on school buses means you should slow down. Red flashing lights mean you should stop, and remained stopped until the lights have been deactivated.

Before you drive off, make sure all kids are clear from the roadway. Lastly, keep a lookout for school buses that start to slow down.

"Bottom line, we don't want to see any children get hit by a car,"said Tyler police officer Don Martin."

Drivers need to pay attention, slow down, and stay alert.

"It only take a few moments for all of us to be safe," said Barnes.
