World Series Game Called Because of Rain, Lightning

With a perfect 3-0 record in the Senior League World Series, the Tyler East Senior All-Stars were sitting on top of their pool.

But their work is not done.

Tyler East's game with Michigan was called because of rain and lightning.

Tyler led 4-0 in the top of the third inning. The tournament director told KLTV the game will not count, and Tyler will play Georgia tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

Tyler East has been in Maine for the World Series since Friday.

The team is made up of players from several different East Texas schools.

Some are also football players and that has some local coaches in an interesting position.

Especially Coach Randy McFarlin at Whitehouse where four football players , including star quarterback Brady Attaway and receiver Seth Cashion are playing in the World Series.

"It helped having spring ball," McFarlin said, "without spring ball, if they had missed two weeks of two a days, it would have been impossible to play."

The down side of being in the World Series for the whitehouse players, Coach McFarlin said to be fair the boys practicing now, when the others get back from Maine, they'll have to do some extra running.
