Arp Tiger Tops In Football and Basketball

Ask any coach and they will tell you it's easier to make calls than organize a team photo.

Wednesday morning was photo day for the Arp Tigers and Coach Dale Irwin was playing organizer. But, the Tigers are as a versatile a team as they are photogenic.

Especially wide receiver Sedrick Johnson.

Sedrick's name comes up over and over when you talk about Arp. He is considered one of the state's top 50 players in football and basketball.

"Football keeps the intensity going and makes me play harder on the court," Sedrick said. "So, that's why I like to play football."

"The thing about Sedrick is, he's not a pre-madonna," Coach Irwin said. "He goes about his business, you know? If we ask him to block, he's going to block. You ask him to catch the ball, he's going to do that. If we ask him to run on a kickoff he's going to do that. So, Sedrick doesn't let any of the headlines or any of the recognition get to him. He's just a joy to coach."

Sedrick has verbally committed to play basketball at Texas A&M.
