Cloud's Food Recalls Thousands Of Sandwiches

Longview-based company Cloud's Food Service has voluntarily pulled more than 4,200 of its tuna salad and egg salad sandwiches. The company says during routine FDA testing, the sandwiches were found to possibly be contaminated with Listeria, an organism that can cause serious or fatal infections in children, the elderly or people with weak immune systems.

"We've not had any one call us. At this point, call us and of course. We only discovered this early this week, but since the product has already probably consumed, if it was consumed, that would have been over a month ago and the remainder of the product has been picked up," says Ruth Ann Bewley, Office Manager for Cloud's Food Service.

The tuna sandwiches in questions have label dates between June 22 and July 25. The egg salad sandwiches date from April 19 to July 25. For now, the company is no longer making tuna or egg salad sandwiches.
