Melinda Jackson Arrested Again

Tyler police arrested Melinda Jackson while she was meeting with her probation officer this morning; charging her with intoxicated assault.

Today, she hid her face from cameras, even going so far as to say she did not want to be on television.

Her demeanor was a far cry from June 20th, the day she hit 15 year old Jesus Cardenas while allegedly driving under the influence. While he was sent to the hospital that day with serious injuries, she screamed at our cameras from the backseat of a patrol car.

The arrest that day came just hours after bonding out of jail on public intoxication and drug paraphernalia charges.

Then, one month later , Jackson was arrested again for several drug-related charges and another DWI after allegedly causing a three car accident.

Jackson was released from jail on Sunday on $330,000 bond. The money was posted by her boyfriend and backed by a local bondsman.

But KLTV 7 News has obtained documents filed by the bond company yesterday requesting Jackson be rearrested; claiming they found her at home with drugs.

Today, as she was booked into jail, she didn't have much to say, but police say this is a step toward keeping DWI offenders off East Texas streets.

With all of Jackson's bonds added together, she's being held on one million dollars bond, but if someone can come up with a percentage of that, she could get out again.
