Sabine Hopes To Repeat History

It's a new season, with a new coach and a new attitude in Sabine. And, despite just one win over the past two seasons, the Cardinals are hoping history can repeat itself. That history belongs to new head coach David Feaster, who has a history of taking downtrodden programs and turning them into winners.

"It's not a matter of teaching our guys to win," explained Feaster.  "We're just teaching them to block and to tackle and to catch and to do all of the things involved in the football games, and once we do that, they're going to start winning games."

Having a senior class willing to buy into the program is key, and fortunately for Feaster, his seniors are hungry to absorb everything he has to tell them.

"I believe every word he says," said senior lineman Isiah Colbert.  "We've got to get our confidence up, and I've got to help the lineman develop something in them so they can go all out every play, not get tired like the first three plays. Keep going and going and going until the fourth quarter."

"We've got some new kids," added senior quarterback Josh Herod.  "We had a bunch of people up here working hard in the summer and stuff so we feel great about our chances this season."
