Monica is a typical little girl. She loves to play and laugh. This 11 year old also enjoys music, especially Country Western and Christian songs. She likes going to church and Sunday school. And like most kids, Monica likes watching movies. She's a fun child, who likes to give and receive hugs. "She loves people and she's real sociable. She likes to play with other kids and she's real active and she's very affectionate," says Linda Frazier, Monica's Foster Mother. Monica likes working on the computer, as well as putting puzzles together. She's in the fourth grade, and in resource class. Monica requires help with her school work and will need to continue speech therapy. "But she is eager to learn," adds Linda, "and I think she has a lot of potential and she does like to please, but she does need a lot of guidance and structure in teaching her those things, but we've made a lot of progress in those areas." Monica is a healthy girl who would do best as either the only or youngest child in a family. She seeks attention and needs unconditional love and support from adoptive parents. "She'd have to have parents who are very flexible and consistent and are willing to work with her, she does demand quite a bit of patience and a lot of supervision, but she's very sweet," says Linda. Monica needs the Gift of Love to help steer her in the right direction, giving her confidence as she grows. "I want to be loved," says Monica with hopeful eyes. It's something every child wants, especially one who has never had it.
