Emotional Irvin Joins Football Legends

After Saturday night, Michael Irvin will stop being called just a "former player" and be known to the world as a "hall of famer."

Irvin was one of six inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, Saturday night.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gave the enshrinement speech and honors to Irvin while fellow triplet and hall of famer Troy Aikman looked on.

Irvin won three Super Bowls with Dallas in the 1990's and finished his career with more than 11,000 yards receiving.

His off the field problems delayed his induction into the Hall of Fame.

An emotional Michael said of all his achievements, he wanted to be a good father most of all.

"I have two sons," Irvin said looking into the crowd. "When I am on that threshing floor I pray. I say 'God, I have my struggles and I made some bad decisions, but whatever you do, whatever you do, don't let me mess this up."

Along with Michael, Gene Hickerson, Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, Thurman Thomas and Roger Wehrli were inducted into the Hall of Fame Saturday.
