FEMA In East Texas To Help

A chance to get face to face help from FEMA, and already dozens of East Texans have taken advantage. They did so at the Mobile Disaster Recovery Center in Jacksonville. The agency is offering rental assistance, grants, and low-interest loans for flood victims in Smith and Cherokee counties.

"Our job is to make sure people have a safe, secure and functional home to live in. So if they've been damaged by the floods or storms then they need to register with FEMA  by calling 1-800-621-FEMA, which is 1-800-621 3362, or they can go online at fema.gov," said John Veach, the FEMA Mobile Disaster Recovery Manager.

You can also register, along with applying for help, at FEMA's Mobile Disaster Recovery Center.  It will be in Jacksonville at the police department until six o'clock Sunday night.
