Life In Prison For ETMC Gunman

An East Texas man gets life in prison for what the court called the "attempted execution" of his wife at an local hospital.

Earlier this month, Richard White pleaded guilty to opening fire at East Texas Medical Center, critically wounding his wife and injuring another man.

Today, he sat in court listening as witnesses and one victim described the horror of that day.

A 'predatory act' is what they called it, and White was portrayed as the hunter. The judge handed down the maximum sentence on two charges; life in prison.

Ronnie Norton, the man who was shot in the crossfire says, "Justice has been done. I am glad it's over. I know everyone has suffered a lot over this; his family, my family, my wife, my children, my grandchildren, but justice has been done."

Prosecutors called several witnesses today in the sentencing trial. Lucinda White- the woman shot, was not there.
