Lone Finalist Named For TJC President

A sole finalists, most likely the next president of Tyler Junior College was chosen today.  His name is Dr. Michael Metke, and he is currently a president of a technical college in Washington. The board of trustees is confident Dr. Metke is the man for the job.

The president of the Board of Trustee's said, "He is a man of high character, a person of high intelligence. He's a person who is tremedously experienced in community colleges and junior colleges; he's willing to provide the kind of leadership that I think we're going toneed in the next six, seven, or eight years."

State law requires the school to wait at least twenty days, after naming their sole finalist before the official announment.  Current president William Crowe announced he was leaving the job last June.
