Blaze Destroys Inside Of Vacant Home

In Tyler, a Saturday afternoon fire destroys the inside of a vacant house.  The blaze started around 1:00 p.m. Saturday at a house near the corner of West 29th Street and Carter Avenue. Fire investigators say people were expected to move into the house next week, but they did find evidence, including smoking paraphernalia, that someone was sleeping inside the home.  At this point, they believe a cigarette may have started the blaze.

"I hope nobody was in the place, you know there might have been a kid or something in there, but they said there wasn't no one in there, so it's all I seen, and a whole lot of smoke," said nearby resident Mary Williams.  "It's good nobody was in there though."  Investigators tell KTLV 7 they do have a person of interest, but have not been able to locate him.
