Recalled Baby Food Distributed In East Texas

A warning to parents Gerber is recalling nearly half a million packages of baby food.  Some of it was distributed right here in East Texas. The East Texas Food Bank had received thousands of boxes of this baby food and now is urging you to throw it out.

The recalled product includes all packages and codes of Gerber's Organic Rice and Organic oatmeal cereals. The company says it clumps and may not dissolve in water or milk creating a choking hazard. No injuries have been reported but Gerber has received several complaints. You can call Gerber, at the number on the box, for a full refund.

"The East Texas Food bank had received 3,840 boxes of the formula the oatmeal and had distributed 1,200 boxes. We were able to identify what agencies received the boxes and are having them come back to the food bank to be disposed of," said Robert Bush Executive Director of the East Texas Food Bank.

Here is the list of the 25 agencies that had distributed the Gerber's Organic Oatmeal however majority of the agencies had ONLY distributed a limited number of boxes of the product.  The remaining boxes have been taken off of their shelves and will be disposed of properly by the East Texas Food Bank.
