Alleged Drunk Driving Mother Hits Several Cars In Tyler

A mother is in jail today, accused for the second time of drunk driving while her children were in the car.

Police say 41 year old Nancy Graves hit as many as five cars as she drove around Tyler Wednesday afternoon.

It all started around 2:30pm in the Johnny Carino's parking lot at Old Jacksonville Highway and the Loop. Witnesses say Graves hit two different cars before driving off. Then, we're told she hit another car at Highway 155 and a 4th car at the Loop and Highway 31. Police are investigating if a fifth car may have been hit.

Police were finally able to pull her over at Front Street and Palace. When they did, they discovered the woman had her four and five year old children in the car with her along with a pet.

CPS was called, and the children will most likely be released to their grandmother. The pet was taken to the animal shelter, and Graves was taken to jail.

Sergeant Bill Goecking with the Tyler Police Department says, "This is a very dangerous thing, and we always encourage the public, if they see something like this, call us immediately, and if they can follow the person safely, we'll listen to the information through our 911 dispatch board."

Fortunately, no one was hurt in any of the accidents. Graves is facing two charges for drunk driving with children and hit and run charges for each of the vehicles she hit.
