Jacksonville Rodeo Begins

The 45th annual Jacksonville rodeo begins Wednesday and is going through Saturday.

The rodeo is put on by the Rodeo Association. This year the first two nights Wednesday and Thursday are geared toward families to bring their children out. The entertainment is an East Texas who is making his first appearance at the Jacksonville rodeo.

"Austin Anderson will be here tonight. He is from Troop, Texas. He and his father have produced horse acts all over the country and been in several movies down through the years. He will be performing tonight," said Rondo Crim, a director of the Rodeo Association.

The rodeo starts at 8 p.m every evening. Tickets range from $12 to $28 and are available at any Cavender's location, at the ticket office (903) 586-3285, or at the gate.

The entertainment for the rest of the weekend. Friday night Blake Shelton is performing after the rodeo, and Saturday night is the Randy Rodgers Band.
