First lawsuit filed in Selmer drag car crash

The first wrongful death lawsuit has been filed after a drag car at a charity event in Selmer veered off a highway and into a crowd, killing six people.

The lawsuit names the defendants as driver Troy Critchely, his AMS racing team, and Larry Price, the Cars for Kids event founder.

The father of victim Scarlet Replogle filed the lawsuit late Tuesday afternoon at the McNairy County court.

The lawsuit claims Replogle's death was "the result of the acts of negligence of the defendants."

The plaintiffs are asking for $10 million in damages in the June 16th incident.
