I got several viewer emails in response to my comments about Senator Harry Reid's reference to undocumented Americans. Some carried the theme expressed by Toby Fite from Tyler who writes, "But these people that he is referring to are Americans. They are not citizens of the United States, but Americans nonetheless. They hail from North America and South America. It is not correct to imply that only U.S. citizens are "American".
And Mario D. Grisanti (Gris-on-te) also from Tyler wrote:
"How arrogant of those of us in the United States who feel that we are the only Americans in this hemisphere. Is it any wonder that the "Ugly American" is alive, well and despised by our neighbors."
Well, although I'm not sure that's what Senator Reid meant by his description the point is well taken.
