Teen Struck By Alleged Drunk Driver; Woman Returns To Jail For 2nd Time In 24 Hours

From the backseat of a patrol car, an irate Melinda Jackson yelled at police officers.

Police tell KLTV 7 that 15 year old Jesus Cardenas was standing in the road after finishing up some yard work. They say that's when a distracted Melinda Jackson slammed into the boy, denting her car and leaving him with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

After completing a field sobriety test, police arrested Jackson on DUI charges and, for the second time in 24 hours, she was headed back to jail.

Just yesterday the 27 year old was released on $3,300 bond, charged with possession of drug paraphenalia, theft, public intoxication and bail jumping.

Jesus Cardenas is also being cited for failing to yield to traffic.
