Despite the weather hundreds of East Texas braved the rain and turned out for south Tyler's First Farmer's Market.
Many of the ten vendors were surprised when many arrived early. Locals bought out many of the ten vendors completely, some even closed their stand before the market was over.
Overall, everyone was pleased for the first of many more. "Supporting us local farmers and growers. It's a lot of hard work but it's worth it," said Cindy Bjork with Aunt Cindy's Organic Market Center.
Nell Warren came out Saturday and shopped at the Farmers' Market, "It is so convenient. And I love fresh vegetables. So I was anxious to check it out."
"When they came through this morning with their umbrellas in the rain and they still had a smile on their face," said Lesley Moore with Moore Farms out of Bullard.
The South Tyler Farmers' Market will take place every Saturday through August at the parking lot of Bed Bath and Beyond on South Broadway.
