A burglar is caught after a resident calls Tyler Police.  It happened in the 500 Block of South Clayton Street around 5:00 a.m.

Police say the resident heard a window break and an intruder enter.  The resident snuck out the back door and called Tyler Police from a neighbor's house.

"Our officers arrived at the scene. They surrounded the scene. They looked in found the subject peering out that didn't belong in the house. Found the subject hiding in a closet with a knife," Tyler Police Sergeant Bill Goecking said.

Oscar Fernandez Hernandez, 45, was arrested and remains in the Smith County Jail on charges of burglary of a habitation.
