More Than A Dozen New Longview Police Officers

Thirteen new recruits and one officer promoted to sergeant took the police officer's oath Friday in Longview. The commissioning ceremony was full of friends and family, some who got to pin the badge on their loved one. This is second commissioning for Longview PD this year.  Eleven joined back in January. This class includes one woman, another statistic that's rising within the department.

Amy Malanowski, a new Longview Police Officer, says, "I'm proud to be, I hope I represent well, and learn everything I need to learn and do a good job and help the community here in Longview."

LPD says it still has ten more spots to fill. They're hoping to get 15 new recruits in July's academy.
