East Texas Teens Use Summer Vacation To Serve

Some East Texas teenagers, along with more than a hundred teens from around the country, are using their summer vacation time to help others.  Wednesday morning, Teen Mania, a global outreach program, paired up with Mission Tyler to do just that, serve the people in the Tyler community. A few hours later, the teens ate lunch with area children in several parks through the East Texas Summer Lunch Program, but that's not all they will be doing.

"They are going to serve the community by picking up trash," said Mission Tyler Director, Travis White.  "They are going to beautify the neighborhoods by painting numbers on the curbs here in the neighborhood, and do some edging on the curbs.  I hope the children that are here from all over the U.S. take back home with them, hey I can go places and do that, but I can also do that right here in my home town."  The teenagers will be doing mission work in Tyler the rest of the week.
