Longview Ranks Top 50 For It's Economic Potential

A big honor for an East Texas city--a top fifty ranking, mentioned in the Wall Street Journal.  An article in Monday's paper lists Longview as number 45 out of 370 metro cities for its economic potential. The Business Vitality list, created by moodyseconomy.com, takes into account factors like household income growth and labor availability. Those are factors LEDCO says Longview is certainly growing in.

"This kind of publicity in the Wall Street Journal is fantastic for Longview because we couldn't afford to pay for this kind of publicity.  Advertising in the Wall Street Journal is very expensive so it's really wonderful and we hope that a lot of people throughout the nation and the world will see it and continue to recognize that Longview's a good place to live work and play," says John Stroud, Executive Director of the Longview Economic Development Corporation.

Other Texas cities in the ranking were: Austin--1, Dallas--27 and Houston--32.
