Wounded East Texas Soldier Comes Home

It's the first trip home for an East Texas soldier in three years.  In November, Frank Fields of Chapel Hill lost both his legs to an armor defeating IED in Iraq.   In February, we caught up with Frank at Brooke Medical Center in San Antonio where he has been undergoing rehabilitation. Saturday, the Tyler American Legion will be holding a benefit for Frank to raise money for a handicap-accessible van.

"Come on out because I really want to meet you and say thank you because the love that I've been shown, just like I said people have been opening their arms," said Fields.  "That's more than I could ever ask for."   The chili cook off and silent auction benefit starts at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.  It will be held at the American Legion Post 12 in Tyler.  Registration is $20.00.
