Funeral Plans Set For East Texas Soldier, Killed In Iraq
A solemn homecoming at an East Texas airport, for a soldier who has fallen on the battlefield in Iraq.
At Gregg County Regional Airport, a military welcome with full honors for Sergeant Chad Domino, who died May 31st in Baghdad.
With family and friends on hand, and many Longview residents who came out to pay their respects, Domino's flag-draped casket was given full military honors.
Members of the Patriot Guard were also on hand to show respect.
For the family, it was a sad and emotional time to remember their hero.
"I was very shocked very devastated, I was very hurt, but I knew that's what he wanted to do. He wanted to serve his country. Not only that, but serve the country to protect us as well." said cousin Bobby Halton.
"We're here today to honor the sacrifice for our freedom that Sergeant Domino made willingly to lay down his life for our freedom" said Patriot Guard rider Robert Young.
Clifford Powell told us, "I want to say thank you to him for protecting us , our lives that we can go home everyday day to day and have happiness and peace."
Sergeant Chad Domino's funeral will be Saturday at 1 at Red Oak Baptist Church in Longview.
