Round One Goes To The Spurs

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The San Antonio Spurs shut down LeBron James while taking Game One of the NBA Finals 85-76 over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James shot just 4-for-16 from the field, including an 0-for-7 mark in the first half. He finished with 14 points while being hounded by Bruce Bowen and several others.

Tim Duncan had 24 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks to help the Spurs get within three victories of their fourth championship since 1999.

Tony Parker scored a team-high 27 points and Manu Ginobili added 16 to the victory.

Like James, the Cavs got little from Zydrunas Ilgauskas.  The Cleveland center finished with two points on 1-of-8 shooting.

Greg Gibson came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting.

Drew Gooden hit six of his nine shots in scoring 14 points.

Game Two is Sunday night in San Antonio.
