East Texas High School Seniors Celebrate Graduation

It's graduation weekend for many East Texas schools, the day seniors get to celebrate 12 years of hard work and say goodbye to high school.   John Tyler High School held its graduation ceremony Saturday morning at the Oil Palace.  This year's valedictorian is Claudia Viramontes who plans to study biology, business and Spanish at TJC. For the hundreds of other students, there is a lot they say they are going to miss.

"What I'll miss most about high school is hanging out with my friends," said John Tyler Senior Crameka Thompson.

"Being on the drum line with all my high school friends, what we called our drum line," said John Tyler Senior Montreal Sanders.

"I'm going to miss all of my teachers, and just missing the fun and no responsibility," said John Tyler Senior Shmare Clarey.  "Just going to school, but it's time to grow up."

Robert E. Lee High School held its graduation ceremony at the Oil Palace Saturday night.
