Joliet Forces Decisive Championship Game

In front of their largest crowd of the season, TJC failed to deliver the knock-out punch to Joliet, losing 9-3 in the first Championship game this afternoon.  That forces Round Three of the Apaches versus Wolves slugfest.

TJC had a chance to close out the World Series with a perfect record this afternoon.  They had the large crowd they so desperately wanted.  But, the Apaches seemed tight and out of sync at times, committing two errors and several base-running miscues that cost them during key moments.

The win gave Joliet new life.  Both teams now have one loss.  The winner of the second Championship game will capture the national title.  Unfortunately, a line of thunderstorms put that game on hold for awhile.  Around 10pm tonight, tournament officials postponed the game.

TJC and Joliet will now play the final game, Friday at Noon at Mike Carter Field in Tyler.

With the smallest enrollment in District 17-5A, and really across the entire classification, Lindale could use that as an excuse for a sub-par season. But under defensive coordinator, turned head coach Chris Cochran, that won't be the case.
