Lots of viewer emails last week after my comments on big cities search and abuse of our water supplies.
Nancy writes.... Conservation can keep Texas as awesome and varied as it is now and make it a leader and example for the rest of the country....
And Billie from Red River County says..... In my old age, the Income I get from my land keeps me off the "welfare" rolls. If water hogs take my land, I cannot live on the Social Security I get.... And finally a viewer named Isabelle offers...
I think Dallas should be required to practice water conservation measures with penalties for abusers for at least 5 years before we even talk about the possibility of Marvin Nichols Reservoir.
One of the best ideas I heard came from Mendy Rabicoff in Longview who serves on the Northeast Texas Region D Water Board. He believes water should be treated like a mineral.
And like oil let the market demand the value and the means by which the land owner is paid for it. You can write me anytime at a better east Texas at kltv.com.
Thank you for your support and for putting a visual on the water consumption. 260 gallons per person per day. We all need to learn to conserve water and to make proper use of the water resources that we already have available. I live and work on my land and will loose everything if we don't come up with better ways to use the water we are wasting. We used to catch rainwater and had to conserve every drop. Now we have a well and dont' pay to much attention until the pressure drops. City folks don't even know how or where the water comes from or most don't care. I invite anyone who cares to come out and see where the water they want will come from and what could be distroyed so that they can waste more water. Just small changes in how we waste the water will make all the difference in the future. We all need to learn to practice making a difference.
For some Humans on Earth, who posess unlimited financial resources, Our natural resources have no limits to them. They can abuse, waste, and have no since of shame of ruining Our Enviroment. And "They" pass this same twisted mentallity onto their offspring like Gospel, so that their "comfortable way of Life" cycle of wanton destruction of Our Planet will continue as long as there's enough money to buy it.UNTIL THERE'S NONE LEFT FOR SELL! Big Money Needs To Start Conserving, NOT CONSUMING! MY LAND AND WATER IS NOT FOR SELL! I LIVE AND WORK IN RED RIVER COUNTY, TEXAS. MY FAMILY AND I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN DAILY PRACTICING TEXAS CONSERVATIONISTS, SET A GOAL AND CONSERVE SOME NATURAL RESOURCES FOR YOUR FAMILIES FUTURE TODAY!
