Students Pack Up Hundreds Of Candy Bars For Troops

Some sweet treats for our troops fighting overseas. Tuesday morning, students from Bramlette Elementary in Longview packed up almost 500 candy bars to send overseas. This is the second year they've done it but, this year, the candy bars are going to troops anywhere overseas, last year, they went to those serving in Iraq. The students say it's their way of saying 'thanks for all you do.'

Principal Vernessa Gentry with Bramlette Elementary School, says, "we want to be able to give to them, they're doing so much for our country and we wanted to get the children involved, and let them know the importance of doing things for others, who that we care.

Tri-city charter will be paying the full cost to send the candy bars overseas. And Lacks Furniture, as well as the candy manufacturer, each donated a 100 bars to the students.
